hastings-on-hudson

The Hastings Repair Cafe is part of an intervillage community effort known as the "The Rivertowns Repair Cafe" organized by volunteers from Hastings, Dobbs Ferry Irvington, Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow.

Hastings Repair Cafe was established in 2019 with the first cafe taking place on April 13. It evolved from a planning session of the Transition Town Network, a group of community members concerned about reliance on finite resources (in particular oil) and building a sustainable community. A proposal was made to the Hastings Conservation and Recreation Committees and they wholeheartedly supported us.

Our village has been attracting artists for over a hundred years and continues to do so. Our village is special because it embraces building a sustainable community with strong values in education, art and outdoor activities. We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds and actively seek volunteers and fixers to help run events and educate the fixer community.

SPONSORS

We thank the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson, and in particular, the Recreation Department and the Conservation Commission for their wonderful support.
