3rd Saturday of Every Other Month
At the Repair Café you'll find tools and supplies to help make repairs to wooden furniture, small appliances, electronics, & housewares, clothes & textiles, lamps & lighting, crockery, toys and more.
You'll also find "repair coaches" such as electricians, seamstresses, mechanics, knife and tool sharpeners, and all-purpose fix-it pros with superior technical skills. Some folks do this for a living, but all have volunteered for the day to help you. We expect you to stay, watch and ideally learn how to fix what you brought. They will not fix items unless the owner stays to watch and learn. If your item can’t be fixed at the Café that day, your coach will tell you why.
Repairs are free except for a charge, at our cost, for lamp replacements parts. Donations always gratefully accepted to help us meet expenses. There will be free coffee and tea (bring your own mug) and baked treats and fruit for sale.
We are still looking for "Repair Coaches" to guide people fixing all kinds of things. Repair coaches bring their own tools and offer repairs at no cost. We provide basic supplies. If you would like to volunteer, the commitment can be on a per-event basis. Even if you’re not handy, you can help keep things out of the landfill. We need volunteers to help register people at the door, fill out forms, and guide them to the appropriate Repair Coach.
Please contact Elizabeth Knight Moss @ 845-544-1056, or firstname.lastname@example.org, to volunteer or for more information.
